Prepping the Teeth
Next, the teeth must be prepped before veneers can be placed. This involves using a local anesthetic to numb the teeth and gums. Then we remove a small amount of enamel from the front of the teeth. Once this is complete, we will take impressions of your teeth and use them to design your permanent veneers.
Your Custom Veneers
In the meantime, temporary veneers will be placed over your teeth to protect them while your custom veneers are being created. These veneers will not look exactly like your permanent veneers, but they will still look natural. During this time, your teeth may feel a little sensitive, so we recommend using a toothpaste for sensitive teeth and avoiding biting into cold foods like ice cream. Once your permanent veneers are ready, a final appointment will be scheduled to remove your temporary veneers and place your new, custom veneers.
